Artist Statement

I would describe myself as a renaissance woman from continuing to intellectually stimulate my mind, to explore cultures internationally, to enjoy visual and performing arts, and encouraging myself to become fully engaged in the world around me. I always saw myself in relation to the arts as the observer not the performer. Yet viola! My life has been positively redefined through visuals arts and I have found more inner peace, tranquility and great clarity.  When I open my eyes in the morning, as an artist the world now appears more vivid, full of marvelous colors, and intricate details.  It is like transitioning from color to high definition.  Oh the clarity!

At this stage in my life success for me is traveling my journey as an artist with integrity, trust, and love. I go forth in peace not knowing where my journey shall take me but I am fully engaged in the process of learning my craft. I will continue to promote visual arts to be recognized by the general public as beneficial to the well-being of mankind.  Only through this path and inner strength can I be free to paint on my canvas of life.

Bio

Renée LaVerné Rose is a visual artist who is originally from the Chicago and currently resides in Glencoe, Illinois. Ms. Rose has been fortunate to have had a successful career in Government Relations, Public Policy and Government Administration.  To have balance in her life, she enrolled in an oil painting workshop thinking this was only for relaxation.  Renée LaVerné always saw herself in relation to the arts as the observer not the performer. Medium

Currently Renée LaVerné's media of choice is oils.  She loves the feel, the texture and the way the oil paint glade across the canvas.  Oil paints gives her the flexibility in altering the her directyion

Renée LaVerné usually working on several bodies of work concurrently.  Once she has focused on a theme, she is hopeful that my body of works will convene positive energy and thoughts.  She would like my work to be a safe haven where people can escape their own realities and be open to a world of endless possibilities.

What inspires her is experimenting with different subjects that convene my thoughts on a particular subject or a moment in time.  When she paints, she wants the passion inside of me to flow onto the canvas.  She wants to show the audience what is absolutely beautiful to my eyes and what touches my soul.

What she can promise my audience is that she will always be true to my heart and capture on canvas what moves my audience. What drives her is capturing peoples’ hearts and minds. Will she enrich their lives?  Can she seduce them to be open to differences?    hat she can promise my audience is that she will always be true to my heart and capture on canvas what moves my audience.

Inspiration

With her new found love as a visual artist, she was determined to combine the world of politics and art together.  Renée LaVerné strongly believes that these supposedly diametrically opposed worlds have more similarities than people would like to think. Nothing can get people more passionate or provoke strong emotional reactions than a controversial political topic. In the same way, an artist will push societal limits to address an issue that he/she passionately believes must be publicly explored, causing the same visceral reaction as a heated political debate. The political world and the art world can both act as a catalyst to building bridges between dividing issues that isolate people and lessen their humanity. Both disciplines influence the way people view themselves and the culture that surrounds them and they shape the world we live in – sometimes positively, other times negatively.

I am a visual artist and what inspires me is experimenting with different subjects that convene my thoughts on a particular subject or a moment in time.  When I paint, I want the passion inside of me to flow onto the canvas. I want to show the audience what is absolutely beautiful to my eyes and what touches my soul.
