working on several bodies of work concurrently. Once she has focused on a theme, she
is hopeful that my body of works will convene positive energy and thoughts. She would like my work
to be a safe haven where people can escape their own realities and be open to a world of endless possibilities.
What inspires her is experimenting
with different subjects that convene my thoughts on a particular subject or a moment in time. When she paints, she
wants the passion inside of me to flow onto the canvas. She wants to show the audience what is absolutely
beautiful to my eyes and what touches my soul.
What she

drives her is capturing peoples’ hearts and minds. Will she enrich their lives? Can she seduce
them to be open to differences? hat she can promise my audience is that she will always be true to my heart

Inspiration
With her new found love as a
visual artist, she was determined to combine the world of politics and art together. Renée LaVerné strongly believes
that these supposedly diametrically opposed worlds have more similarities than people would like to think. Nothing can get
people more passionate or provoke strong emotional reactions than a controversial political topic. In the same way, an artist
will push societal limits to address an issue that he/she passionately believes must be publicly explored, causing the same
visceral reaction as a heated political debate. The political world and the art world can both act as a catalyst to building
bridges between dividing issues that isolate people and lessen their humanity. Both disciplines influence the way people view
themselves and the culture that surrounds them and they shape the world we live
in – sometimes positively, other times negatively.
